Rick Remender seems to thrive on writing fairly broken people in uncomfortably difficult positions. From Earth wrecking drunkard spaceman Heath Huston in Fear Agent to nearly the half the cast of Deadly Class, he puts the reader through the wringer by doing the same to his characters. That brings us back to Sonny.

Sonny has been impersonating a killer. Now that killer has the boy Sonny was trying to save. Now that killer has a cabin full of bodies. Now that killer has broken lightbulbs, a rock hammer, a blow torch, pliers, a corkscrew, a bread knife, a video camera...

and Sonny.

The same Sonny who has a guy writing what happens to him that likes to see his characters suffer.

This is not an issue for anyone even slightly squeamish
